The Long Road – A poem

The long road
Stretching without end
All the paths
Can choose any you want

To the right
Lies goodness and light
Water clear and crisp to drink
Groves and fields of food to eat
An eternity of ease
If the restrictions you can keep

To the left
Lies evil and blight
Darkest pleasures in a blink
The Devil’s water is so sweet
Granting whatever you please
Consequences bury you deep

A choice to make
Defining your whole life
Cannot wait
Or life chooses for you
